Cv
I am a Finland-based artist with extensive experience in the creative field. I works as a traditional artist, mostly creating paintings with tempera, oils and ink. In my artworks I repeatedly come back on the themes of identity, nostalgia and the relationship between an individual and their environment. My personal experiences reflect in my work as motives of immigration, struggle between an individual and the system and childhood memories. I combine independent artistic practice with commissioned work both as a painter and as a book illustrator. In the past years, I have collaborated with other artists, educators, musicians and designers. Since 2023, a big part of my work has been within the education field. I give lectures and talks on art history and theory, work throughout the year as an art and art history teacher both for adults and children. A major part of my work is aimed at immigrant communities as a way of using art to promote integration and inter-cultural exchange, as well as to transform art education within schools. I have taught art history courses, spoken at school conferences, LGBTQ+ organisations panels and independent educational organisations. I have experience of organising artistic and educational events. I have been a small business owner since 2023 and every year I manage art camps for children, art history events for adults, art festivals and exhibitions. I believe in a well-rounded approach to artistic practice: creative, intellectual, and practical at once. My work is split between personal expression, and public and communal activity, as I wish to not only communicate through art but also create lasting positive impact on my surroundings.
